What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of a single dose of 8 mg of intravenous dexamethasone versus placebo on the duration of sensory and motor block after spinal anesthesia with chloroprocaine.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for adults who are receiving spinal anesthesia with chloroprocaine. People cannot join if they have conditions or allergies that would make dexamethasone unsafe, but specific inclusion and exclusion details were not provided.

Inclusion Criteria

ASA status I to III inclusively
Signed informed consent form
I am between 18 and 90 years old.

Impossible post-anesthesia care unit assessment due to patient still intubated, transfer to intensive care unit, research team constraints, or other reasons
Assessment in the recovery room impossible due to medical condition (shock, delirium, major agitation, altered state of consciousness, or other), transfer to intensive care unit, research team constraints, or other
I am unable to give informed consent for medical treatment.

Trial Overview
