      ABBV-951 Infusion for Parkinson's Disease

      Columbus, Ohio
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurological condition, which affects the brain. PD gets worse over time, but how quickly it progresses varies a lot from person to person. Some symptoms of PD are tremors, stiffness, and slowness of movement. This study will assess how safe and effective ABBV-951 is in adult participants with PD. Adverse events and change in disease activity is evaluated. ABBV-951 is an investigational (unapproved) drug containing Levodopa Phosphate/Carbidopa Phosphate (LDP/CDP) given as an infusion under the skin for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. Adult participants with advanced PD and who have completed M15-736 or M20-339 study will be enrolled. Approximately 130 participants will be enrolled in the study in approximately 60 sites in the United States and Australia. Participants will receive continuous subcutaneous infusion (CSCI) (under the skin) of ABBV-951 for 96 weeks during the Primary Treatment Period and during the optional Extended Treatment Period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical and remote telephone assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects, and completing questionnaires.

Pembrolizumab + BCG for Bladder Cancer

      Columbus, Ohio
Researchers are looking for new ways to treat high-risk non muscle invasive bladder cancer (HR NMIBC). NMIBC is cancer in the tissue that lines the inside of the bladder but has not spread to the bladder muscle or outside of the bladder. High-risk means NMIBC may have a high chance of getting worse or coming back after treatment. The goals of this study are to learn: 1. If more people who receive pembrolizumab with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) have no signs of cancer in their body and live longer without the cancer growing, spreading, or coming back compared to people who receive BCG alone. 2. About the safety and how well people tolerate BCG alone or in combination with pembrolizumab.

Pembrolizumab + Other Agents for Melanoma

      Columbus, Ohio
Substudy 02C is part of a larger research study that is testing experimental treatments for melanoma, a type of skin cancer. The larger study is the umbrella study. The goal of substudy 02C is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of investigational treatment arms in participants with Stage III melanoma who are candidates for neoadjuvant therapy to identify the investigational agent(s) that, when used in combination, are superior to the current treatment options/historical control available. Arm 1: Pembrolizumab + Vibostolimab, Arm 2: Pembrolizumab + Gebasaxturev, and Arm 3: Pembrolizumab were added in the base protocol on 13-Nov-2019, and enrollment into those arms has been completed. Arm 4: Pembrolizumab + MK-4830 was added in Amendment 04 on 20-Dec-2021, and enrollment into that arm has been completed. Arm 5: Favezelimab + Pembrolizumab and Arm 6: Pembrolizumab + all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) were added in Amendment 06 on 25-Jun-2022, and enrollment is ongoing.

Lenvatinib + Pembrolizumab + TACE for Liver Cancer

      Columbus, Ohio
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lenvatinib and pembrolizumab in combination with TACE versus TACE plus oral and intravenous (IV) placebos in participants with incurable, non-metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The primary hypotheses are that pembrolizumab plus lenvatinib in combination with TACE is superior to placebo plus TACE with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Lenvatinib + Pembrolizumab for Head and Neck Cancer

      Columbus, Ohio
This trial is testing if lenvatinib combined with pembrolizumab or lenvatinib alone is better for patients with head and neck cancer that hasn't responded to other treatments. Lenvatinib stops cancer growth, and pembrolizumab boosts the immune system to fight cancer. Lenvatinib has shown better curative effects when combined with other treatments compared to its use as a single agent.

Chemotherapy + Pembrolizumab/Olaparib for Ovarian Cancer

      Columbus, Ohio
The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of treatment with carboplatin/paclitaxel\* PLUS pembrolizumab (MK-3475) and maintenance olaparib (MK-7339) in women with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer. The primary study hypotheses are that the combination of pembrolizumab plus carboplatin/paclitaxel\* followed by continued pembrolizumab and maintenance olaparib is superior to carboplatin/paclitaxel alone with respect to Progression Free Survival (PFS) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) in participants with programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) positive tumors (Combined Positive Score \[CPS\]≥10) and in all participants, and that the combination of pembrolizumab plus carboplatin/paclitaxel followed by continued pembrolizumab is superior to carboplatin/paclitaxel alone with respect to PFS per RECIST 1.1 in participants with PD-L1 positive tumors (CPS≥10) and in all participants.

      Frequently Asked Questions

How much do Parkinson's Disease clinical trials in Columbus, OH pay?

Each trial will compensate patients a different amount, but $50-100 for each visit is a fairly common range for Phase 2–4 trials (Phase 1 trials often pay substantially more). Further, most trials will cover the costs of a travel to-and-from the clinic.

How do Parkinson's Disease clinical trials in Columbus, OH work?

After a researcher reviews your profile, they may choose to invite you in to a screening appointment, where they'll determine if you meet 100% of the eligibility requirements. If you do, you'll be sorted into one of the treatment groups, and receive your study drug. For some trials, there is a chance you'll receive a placebo. Across Parkinson's Disease trials in Columbus, OH 30% of clinical trials have a placebo. Typically, you'll be required to check-in with the clinic every month or so. The average trial length in Columbus, OH for Parkinson's Disease is 12 months.

How do I participate in a study as a "healthy volunteer"?

Not all studies recruit healthy volunteers: usually, Phase 1 studies do. Participating as a healthy volunteer means you will go to a research facility in Columbus, OH several times over a few days or weeks to receive a dose of either the test treatment or a "placebo," which is a harmless substance that helps researchers compare results. You will have routine tests during these visits, and you'll be compensated for your time and travel, with the number of appointments and details varying by study.

What does the "phase" of a clinical trial mean?

The phase of a trial reveals what stage the drug is in to get approval for a specific condition. Phase 1 trials are the trials to collect safety data in humans. Phase 2 trials are those where the drug has some data showing safety in humans, but where further human data is needed on drug effectiveness. Phase 3 trials are in the final step before approval. The drug already has data showing both safety and effectiveness. As a general rule, Phase 3 trials are more promising than Phase 2, and Phase 2 trials are more promising than phase 1.

Do I need to be insured to participate in a Parkinson's Disease medical study in Columbus, OH?

Clinical trials are almost always free to participants, and so do not require insurance. The only exception here are trials focused on cancer, because only a small part of the typical treatment plan is actually experimental. For these cancer trials, participants typically need insurance to cover all the non-experimental components.

What are the newest Parkinson's Disease clinical trials in Columbus, OH?

Most recently, we added RE104 for Adjustment Disorder, RNDP-001 Implant for Parkinson's Disease and Trastuzumab Deruxtecan + Rilvegostomig/Pembrolizumab for Endometrial Cancer to the Power online platform.
