What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial tests a program called ThriveCircle, designed to help faculty members reduce burnout and improve well-being through shared experiences and mutual support in small groups. Participants will discuss their work lives over shared meals to foster a stronger sense of community. The trial includes two groups: one begins the program immediately, while the other starts later. Ideal participants are CU SOM faculty members with at least half-time employment who are willing to attend in-person sessions. As an unphased trial, this study provides a unique opportunity to enhance personal well-being and community connections without the constraints of traditional clinical trial phases.

Do I have to stop taking my current medications for this trial?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications. It seems focused on group discussions and well-being, so it's unlikely that medication changes are required.

What prior data suggests that the ThriveCircle program is safe for participants?

Research has shown that ThriveCircle aims to improve mental health and reduce burnout among workers. The program includes small group discussions over shared meals, fostering a sense of connection and support among participants.

While specific data on negative effects for ThriveCircle is lacking, it is important to note that it is a program, not a drug or medical device. Therefore, typical safety concerns like side effects may not apply. Instead, the focus remains on creating a positive and supportive environment.

The goal is to build community and enhance well-being, which generally poses minimal risk. Participants in similar programs have reported feeling more positive and connected at work, suggesting that the program is well-tolerated with no significant risks reported.12345

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Researchers are excited about ThriveCircle for workplace wellbeing because it offers a new approach to enhancing employee mental health through immediate small group discussions. Unlike traditional workplace wellness programs that might rely on individual counseling or self-guided activities, ThriveCircle emphasizes real-time peer support and dialogue, which can foster a sense of community and shared understanding. This method could lead to quicker improvements in workplace morale and mental health by encouraging open communication and mutual support among colleagues.

What evidence suggests that the ThriveCircle program is effective for improving workplace wellbeing?

Research has shown that programs like ThriveCircle, which emphasize group discussions and peer support, can enhance well-being at work. In this trial, participants in the "Immediate Thrive Circle" arm will engage in small group discussions immediately, while those in the "Control (Delayed Intervention)" arm will be waitlisted. Studies have found that such workplace programs can boost productivity by 10% to 21%. Building a sense of community and support among employees can lead to better mental health and reduced burnout. Although specific data on ThriveCircle's effectiveness is limited, evidence supports the general concept of community building and guided conversations for improving work environments.12678
