What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This study is being done to answer the question: How do people with Parkinson's disease, people with Mild Cognitive Impairment, and younger people process difficult topics in conversation? It will also explore themes related to dance, such as community building and justice, as perceived by persons with Parkinson's disease or Mild Cognitive Impairment, and younger individuals before and after the Adaptango performance process.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, or Alzheimer's disease, as well as younger adults. Participants should be able to take part in group activities and conversations.

Inclusion Criteria

Individuals (PWP, younger adults, PLwD) from the greater Atlanta area
PWP group must be diagnosed by a neurologist specialized in Parkinson's disease
Score of at least 18 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)

Exclusion Criteria

Not able to clearly understand English
Substance Use Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorders within six months of evaluation
I am not taking medications that could affect my memory or thinking, or my doses have been stable for at least 3 months.

  • Adaptango Performance Process (APP) program

Trial Overview

The study is testing the Adaptango Performance Process (APP) program—a dance-based community activity—to see how it affects conversation skills and social themes among older adults with neurological conditions and younger people.
