What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial explores a new eczema treatment using a serum and cream made from omega-3, a type of fatty acid. Researchers aim to determine if these products support the skin's natural bacteria and to observe any side effects. Participants will apply the treatment daily for two weeks, comparing results to an untreated area and their usual skincare routine. This trial suits adults with eczema who haven't used steroid creams in the last two weeks and can commit to the study duration. As an unphased trial, it offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative eczema treatment research.

Do I have to stop taking my current medications for the trial?

The trial does not specify if you need to stop taking your current medications, but you should not have used corticosteroids in the 14 days before starting the study.

What prior data suggests that this omega-3 topical treatment is safe for eczema?

Research has shown that omega-3 monoglyceride-based topical products, such as the serum and cream being tested, are usually well-tolerated by people with eczema. Studies have found that these products generally cause mild side effects for those with eczema and dermatitis, meaning most users do not experience major negative reactions. However, individual reactions can vary. Participants in this study will help gather more information on possible side effects, aiding in the understanding of the safety and effectiveness of these treatments.12345

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Unlike many eczema treatments that rely on steroids or immunosuppressants, the Omega-3 Monoglycerides Based Serum and Cream offer a natural approach by using omega-3 fatty acids, which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. This unique active ingredient not only moisturizes the skin but also targets inflammation at the cellular level, potentially reducing flare-ups. Researchers are excited about this treatment because it promises fewer side effects and a gentler option for managing eczema symptoms while enhancing skin health.

What evidence suggests that this omega-3 treatment might be effective for eczema?

Research has shown that omega-3s can help with eczema symptoms. Some studies have found that omega-3 supplements can greatly reduce the severity of eczema. For example, one study showed a clear drop in eczema symptoms after regular use of omega-3s. Omega-3s likely help due to their anti-inflammatory effects, which can calm irritated skin. Early research also suggests that omega-3 creams are generally gentle on the skin. While more research is needed, initial results are promising for using omega-3 treatments to ease eczema symptoms. Participants in this trial will apply the Omega-3 Monoglycerides Based Serum and Cream daily to assess its effectiveness in treating eczema.23567
