What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This pilot study will investigate the potential of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to strengthen a neural circuit critical for maintaining abstinence in adolescents and youth with cannabis use disorder (CUD).

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

This trial is for adolescents and young adults who have a cannabis use disorder. Participants should be willing to try new treatments to help them stop using cannabis.

Inclusion Criteria

I am able to give consent for myself or my child can assent with my consent.
I am a young person diagnosed with cannabis use disorder and seeking treatment.
Cannabis use 3+ days per week or 12+ days in the past month as verified by Timeline Followback (TLFB)

Exclusion Criteria

I have moderate to severe heart disease.
I am not currently taking antibiotics that affect the brain or nerves.
I do not have any brain conditions, seizures, metal in my head, or current pregnancy.

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

Treatment

Participants receive repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) or sham rTMS

Daily visits for intervention

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment
