What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

This trial tests a new mobile app designed to enhance mental health counseling. The app, called SuperAssist, aims to improve how mental health providers supervise and support their clients through Client-Centered Supervision Training. Behavioral health staff and their clients will participate, divided into groups using the app and those not using it. Ideal candidates include behavioral health staff who care for adults recovering from mental health or substance use issues and clients willing to participate in online surveys. As an unphased trial, this study offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative mental health solutions and improve care practices.

Will I have to stop taking my current medications?

The trial information does not specify whether you need to stop taking your current medications. It seems to focus on using an app for mental health counseling, so it's unlikely that medication changes are required.

What prior data suggests that the SuperAssist App is safe for mental health counseling?

Research has shown that the SuperAssist App has been tested with mental health providers to enhance their supervision skills. This training employs a mobile app to better support behavioral health staff.

In past studies, participants used the app for six months and provided feedback for improvements. These studies did not report any negative effects or safety issues. Since this trial focuses on the app's effectiveness rather than safety testing, it suggests that the app is generally safe to use. This is because it serves as a training tool, not a medication or direct medical treatment.12345

Why are researchers excited about this trial?

Researchers are excited about the SuperAssist App for Mental Health Counseling because it combines client-centered supervision training with a mobile app, offering a fresh approach to supporting behavioral health staff. Unlike traditional options like in-person therapy or standard supervision techniques, this app aims to enhance the effectiveness of counseling by providing real-time support and resources directly to both staff and clients. This innovative method could potentially lead to more personalized and immediate care, making mental health support more accessible and effective.

What evidence suggests that the SuperAssist App is effective for mental health counseling?

Studies have shown that good supervision can greatly enhance the performance of mental health providers. Research suggests that training focused on client support, such as the Client-Centered Supervision Training offered with the SuperAssist app, can help supervisors guide their teams more effectively. This training employs motivational interviewing, a method that aids individuals in making important decisions. Participants in the SuperAssist Group will receive this training and use the app, which aims to make supervision more organized and supportive by providing supervisors with helpful tools and resources. Although specific data on SuperAssist's effectiveness is still being collected, its approach is based on proven methods that improve the quality of supervision.14678
