This trial explores whether the birth control pill Kurvelo can reduce irritability and other mood issues in female adolescents at risk of suicide. Researchers focus on how hormonal changes affect mood during the menstrual cycle. Participants will take Kurvelo and a placebo (a pill with no active medicine) at different times to compare effects. Girls aged 12-16, who have started their periods and have moderate depressive symptoms, might be suitable if they can safely take birth control pills. As a Phase 4 trial, Kurvelo is already FDA-approved and proven effective, and this research aims to understand how it benefits more patients.
